The entire time that I was taking driving lessons I was looking forwar

The entire time that I was taking driving lessons I was looking forward to the day when I would pass my test and eventually be the proud owner of my favourite classic car. I had always dreamed of owning a Morris Minor just like the one in the Herbie films, although Herbie was actually a VW Beetle. I wasnt going to let the model of car stop me living my dream!

I knew that this wasn't going to come cheap and people had warned me about the cost of insurance on a car like that being expensive, but it didn't matter to me. Before I had even passed my test I started looking for the perfect car.

I started looking on The Internet, after all a classic car like that doesn't just show up on the average garage forecourt. At first it looked promising and there was at least half a dozen cars of the right sort within a reasonable distance of where I lived. I contacted the owner of the nearest car and arranged to meet with him that weekend. When I got there I have to say I was dissappointed. The quality of the paint work left much to be desired and there were quite a few dents and scratches that really put me off. I had to pass on this one, I felt bad seeing such a beautiful car in such disrepair but I believed that a more suitable car would come along.

My dad persuaded me to look at how much the insurance was going to set me back before bothering to travel to see any more cars. I think he was trying to put me off the idea and I admit when I first saw the qoutes I did experience a moment of doubt. But then I remebered How much I loved Herbie and if owning a classic car like that, or at least something with 4 wheels that was old, meant sacrificing a few nights out and spending less money on clothes in order to pay for the insurance then so be it.

I eventually found the perfect car. True the colour was completely wrong, what with it being bright purple, but that was something I could change at a later date. It was within my budget and in excellent condition. All I needed to do now was pass my driving test!
