My dad bought a motorcycle about 6 months ago. He says it is cheaper to ride to work, and saves a lot on gas. I think the name of this motorcycle is called a Harley. I know Mom and him had long discussions on whether a motorcycle was safe to drive back and forth to work. I remember the conversation so well. One said the cycle is safe if you wear a helmet, then the other one say you have to be extra careful when driving through intersections.

One night I asked my Dad for a ride on the motorcycle and of course he went into this big talk about having to wear a helmet so I would be safe. I had to wearlong pants to protect my legs from being wind-burned. You name it, he discussed it with me. He always says you can never be too safe when riding a motorcycle. Hegave me 1 instruction on how to put the helmet on and how to wear it. It was almost like me riding my first bike, and the big speech about being safe.

My 1 and onlyinstruction on how to be safe and to ride a bike was to wear a helmet. Always use your hand signals, how to park the bike in a bike rack, and to stay off to one side of the road. I listened to every instruction there was, or else I got my bike taken away for one day, and if that happened, then I was grounded for a day. My bike was my sole means of transportation for someone being only 10 years old.

Well I remember the weekend was coming up and we had to remove the old carpet in the house. That meant no riding the motorcyclewith my dad all weekend. Oh well, not all is lost, if we both try to help each other, then my dad can still give me another ride on it like Sunday evening. Dad sat down at the computer and was looking up what skip hire cost would be. If we decided to rent one for the carpet, he would just put it in the garage and take the old carpet out through the kitchen door, being it was wider.

Well the weekend is here, and still undecided about the skip hire, still undecided about for sure what color carpet we were going to put in, or just going to stick to floor covering, but one thing for sure, my dad did give me a ride on the motorcycle while Mom was deciding on what to do. While my Dad and I were riding, Mom was figuring out the skip hire cost. Of course, after we ride for a little while, we stop and my dad is still giving me instructions on things.
