I remember all the stories that my grandpa used to tell me and my brothers when we were young about the olden days and from when he was in the wars and such. He used to joke that the worst war he had ever signed up to was when he signed his marriage certificate to my grandma, it always got a laugh from us. He loved my grandma really and she knew it.

He had always worked hard all his life and even when he was struggling to walk he still managed to find something to do. He used to moan at us kids that he was working at 12 and getting paid at 14, he thought we was lazy but i don't think he realized that times had changed.

His last job, he worked at the cheapest skip hire in our local town which he used to ride to early every morning on his very old and very cheap moped. It didn't seem to matter how many times that moped broke down, he would never get rid of it and buy a new motor.

My grandma had a motor which she used for driving him to work when the weather was too bad for using the moped but otherwise it would never get used. Again it was only an old, cheap thing but i don't recall it ever breaking down and it was much more reliable then the cheap moped my grandpa had been using.

I bought him his very own motor car and a lot newer version than what he was used to but he soon gave up his moped and seemed very happy with it but always nagging that the older the engine the better it runs and the more reliable they are but after all the trouble he had with his moped i think his views have maybe changed about that.

To this day my grandpa still tells his stories to us and we are still willing to listen. I just cant wait for the day to come when i can tell my story of how i bought that car for the best grandpa in the world.
