There is a young guy who is a friend of my teenage boys and he owns this really loud scooter. Honestly, every time this guy goes through the estate on the stupid thing, you can hear still hear it when it's a few miles away - he needs a new exhaust I think. A few weeks ago, he was having problems with someone or it may have been more than one person vandalising his scooter, so he asked if he could park it on our drive. As most people don't come down were we live, we agreed he could and he's been leaving his scooter there most evenings after he finishes school. Well, not school exactly - it's hard to explain where it is he goes, as it's not really college either - sort of in-between school and sixth form college.
This scooter of his costs him a fortune, especially with the amount of things that have been wrecked on it. I asked him a couple of days ago why he doesn't just take his driving test and get a car. He said it's because he can't afford the car he wants. When I pushed for a make and model, turns out he would like a classic car. Of course, what he considers a classic car, isn't what I would think is one. To him a Ford Escort is a classic car, to me a Shelby Mustang is as classic as it gets (although I do love the Escort Mk1)! Not that I could ever afford one of those unfortunately - a shame, as they're such beautiful cars.
But, back to the scooter, which has probably had so much work on it that he had to hire a skip to get rid of all the bits he took off. Of course, since the silly pretend-bike is parked on our drive, that's where the skip had to be, so we got in touch with skip hire uk company that we always use, requested a mini skip and waited for it to turn up so we could get rid of all the parts that were now lying around the drive. I was tempted to put the scooter in, but I think he'd notice it was missing!
